CAF CC: Ashantigold held by Akonangui FC in Guinea
Ashantigold were held by Akonangui at the Ebebiyin Stadium in Guinea as both teams settled for a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary stages.
The first half was intense as both teams struggled to get in front. Mark Agyekum came close to scoring for the Miners but his effort was cleared for a corner kick.
Richard Osei Agyemang opened the scoring with an overhead kick beyond the reach of Carlos Musibe.
Diosando Mbele scored for Akonangui in the 75th minute to restore parity.
Ashantigold will welcome Akonangui FC in Obuasi for the second leg.
