Asante Kotoko are back to winning ways after beating Zesco United 2-1 at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi on Wednesday.

The porcupines put out a commanding performance against Zesco United, they started the game on a very high note and managed to score twice in the first half.
Kwame Bonsu opened the scoring after receiving a nice pass from Sogne Yacouba, Bonsu’s shot was deflected into the back of Zesco net to give the porcupines the lead.
Zesco United had the chance the equalize when the referee awarded a penalty after Agyeman Badu fouled Lazarus Kambole in the penalty box, but Felix Annan went the right way to save Jackson Were’s effort.
Asante Kotoko doubled their lead through Emmanuel Gyamfi who was in the right position to tap in a nice placed pass from Sogne Yacouba.

The porcupines finished the first half with a two-goal lead.
Substitute Rahim Osumanu grabbed one goal for the visitors in the 73rd minute after scaling through the Kotoko defence to lob the ball over goalkeeper Felix Annan.
Kondwani Mtonga was shown a red card in the 89th minute after a brutal collision with Stephen Nyarko.
Asante Kotoko will be pleased with the outcome of the results in their group, all clubs in the group are levelled on three points. Asante Kotoko will travel to face Nkana FC in their next game.
