Watford’s Edo Kayembe and Mileta Rajovic had given the visitors a two-goal advantage after a rapid start to the second half.
However, Darnell Furlong scored deep into stoppage time to salvage a point for West Brom, extending their unbeaten streak to eight matches.
Thomas-Asante has now scored ten goals this season as West Brom continues their push for a return to the Premier League.
The 25-year-old came close to making Ghana’s squad for AFCON 2023 after being included in Chris Hughton’s 55-man provisional list but ultimately did not make the final cut for the tournament.
