Black Stars technical advisor, Chris Hughton has applied for the vacant Black Stars job.
The ex Brighton coach is believed to have officially submitted his application for the vacant Black Stars coach position.
Reports last week indicated Hughton was close to becoming the head coach of Swindon Town but that seems to be far from the truth.
Hughton is currently the technical advisor of the Black Stars and was part of the team that represented Ghana at the just ended World Cup in Qatar.
Hughton’s priority is the Black Stars job but will be open to a return to club management should he not land the job.
Per the Communications Director of the GFA, Henry Asante Twum, over 60 coaches have applied for the vacant job.
“Maybe over 60 applications. The Black Stars is very attractive. You cannot have Mohammed Kudus in your team and think the Black Stars is not attractive. It is an attractive brand, no doubt about that.
“The Black Stars is one of the most attractive brands on the continent. Every single day you open the GFA email, you will see someone has applied for the Black Stars coaching job,”
He made these remarks speaking to Asempa FM on the vacant Black Stars job.
