Hearts of Oak were beaten 2-1 by Ebusua Dwarfs in a friendly match at the Swedru Stadium on Sunday.  Dwarfs took the lead through Solomon Gyasi in the first half. He headed home from close range but the Phobians restored parity in the second half. Fatawu Mohammed finished off a move initiated from the left to fetch the equalizer for Hearts. However, with eight minutes remaining on the clock, Osman Mohammed scrambled home a second for Dwarfs inside the 18 after good work on the right by Solomon Gyasi.

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has recalled Ayew brothers Andre and Jordan for next month’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia. Appiah has ironed out his differences with the sons of Ghana legend Abedi Pele after telephone conversations. Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have named seven new players in their 25-man squad for the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup campaign. The Porcupine Warriors submitted their squad on Wednesday night to beat the deadline set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). With the competition starting next month the Kumasi-based side have rushed through signing new players to boost their squad for the tough assignment. Ten Benin under-17 player have been jailed for age cheating that led to their disaqualion at the recent WAFU U-17 Cup of Nations.  The 10 were served up with one-month sentences by a court in the Country’s capital, Cotonou. The players were detained after the Benin Under 17 team was expelled from the competition back in September. The former president of Benin’s football federation, Anjorin Moucharafou, was also handed a two-month sentence in the same hearing for his involvement fraud cases.
