The Confederation of African Football (CAF) stripped Cameroon of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations soccer tournament rights to avoid the 2010 experience where some players came under attack by Angola’s Cabinda separatists, besides the delays in infrastructural preparations, confederation President Ahmad Ahmad disclosed. Asante Kotoko put three past Inter Allies in a friendly game on Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium as they continue to prepare for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup. Asante Kotoko dominated the game from the start to the end of the  game. Amos Frimpong opened the scoring for Kotoko with a nice penalty kick after Desmond Abugah handled the ball in the box. Substitute Naby Keita doubled Kotoko’s lead after calmly slotting the ball past the Inter Allies goalie. Martin Antwi scored the third and final goal in extra time to ensure victory for his side.

It was reported recently that Ghana Football would be back after a meeting between the Ghana League Clubs and the Normalization Committee but recent reports however indicate otherwise. The Normalization Committee of the Ghana Football Association has reached an agreement with the various division clubs in the country to resume football activities next month. According to sources close to the NC, negotiations between clubs and the committee over the return of a domestic competition was fruitful, hence the return of football. The stop gap tournament will resume in January and end in June, with the next season expected to be synchronized with the foreign leagues.
