Angola coach, Pedro Goncalves has named his  26-man squad for 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Ghana. Angola will play the Black Stars of Ghana in a two legged encounter for a spot in the African Cup of Nations set to be hosted by Ivory Coast. Kotoku Royals striker,  Andy Kumi is optimistic the club will avoid relegation this season. Kotoku Royals are  last on the Ghana Premier league table with just  17 points after match week 21. Accra Lions kept their tittle hopes alive with a 3-2 victory over Dreams Fc Accra lions continued their fine form to mount pressure on League leaders, Aduna Stars. Black Queens deputy captain Fafali Dumehasi has announced her retirement from international football. Fafali Dumehasi announced her retirement on Friday, March 10 after some incredible years with the Black Maidens, Princesses and the Black Queens. Fafali expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to represent Ghana in a letter addressed to the Ghana Football Association’s general secretary, Prosper Addo. Ghana’s  Benjamin Tetteh suffered a hamstring injury in Hull City’s game against Coventry City. The Ghanaian striker had to be brought off  24 minutes into the game. He left the  the pitch clutching his right hamstring. This is a major blow for Tetteh, whose season has been heavily distracted with multiple injuries. Black Stars Coach Chris Hughton has named Patrick Kpozo, Majeed Ashimeru and Joseph Wollacott in his squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola. Christ Hughton  took charge of the team on February 12, 2023, has also included Edmund Addo of Spartak Subotica and Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer. Ghana’s Richmond Boakye Yiadom scored for his club AL Akhdar as they drew with Saint Eloi Lupopo in the CAF Confederations Cup. Ghana’s Richmond Boakye -Yiadom was on the score sheet for Libyan side Al Akhdar on his CAF Champions league debut. Boakye-Yiadom’s goal was enough to secure a point for his as they conceded in the early stages of the game.
