Ashantigold have appointed Emmanuel Frimpong as the club’s New Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of Frederick Acheampong from that role a week ago.
The 24-year-old, who is the son of club President Dr. Kwaku Frimpong, was named C.E.O of the Obuasi based club by his father.
In an interview with Sikka FM right after his confirmation to the vacant job.
Mr. Frimpong says his target for the club is to ensure that the Obuasi based outfit is one of the biggest brands in African football scene.
“We want to make Ashantigold one of the biggest brand in African Football,”
He further stressed the importance his father, who doubles as president will have on the club, with his immeasurable amount of experiences on the local football terrain.
“With the support of my management and Dr. Kwaku Frimpong, we can make it,”
The President of the club, Dr.Kweku”Champion” Frimpong constituted a new management to oversee the affairs of the club. The most notable amongst the new appointees was former B.A United C.E.O Roy Arthur as Sporting Director of the club.
Seth Boakye Agyemang as the new Administrative Manager with Gibrine Musah as the Operations Manager.
Daniel Bioh maintains his position as a media officer of the club.
It remains to be seen if the young entrepreneur, who in recent times has managed his father’s businesses will be able to transfer that expertise into the world of football, which is a complete ball game altogether.
Ashantigold finished the first round of the Ghana Premier League in fifth place, three points away from the table-toppers Aduana Stars.
The Ghana Premier League is currently suspended as the country battles the widespread of the coronavirus, which has decimated lives all around the world and brought lots of activities to a grand halt.
The country as since recorded 1024 cases, 212 recoveries, and 17 deaths.
