Asante Kotoko set for Baba Yara Stadium return
Asante Kotoko could make a return to the Baba Yara Stadium this January as renovation works are almost completed.
The Porcupines moved to Accra last year after picking the Accra Sports Stadium as their home grounds for the 2020/2021 Football Season following the renovation at Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
They however tried to move to the Tamale Stadium after complaining about the nature of the pitch and tight schedule at the Accra Sports Stadium, but their request was denied by the Ghana Football Association.
The Director-General of the National Sports Authority Dr. Twumasi revealed on Monday that Asante Kotoko will likely start playing again at the Baba Yara Stadium this January as the renovation works are almost completed.
“Asante Kotoko will return to the Baba Yara Stadium this month (January) because renovation work is progressing steadily with chairs, floodlights, and others are all installed,” he told Sikka FM.
The Kumasi giants will be pleased to return to their natural home grounds for the rest of the season as it will ease stress and expenses.
