Asante Kotoko Through To R16 Of CAF Confed Cup Without Playing A Match

Ghana based club Kumasi Asante Kotoko have made it to the round of 16 of the CAF Confed Cup without having to play a match.

This was due to the inability of the the Cameroonian FA failed to meet CAF’s deadline for the confirmation of engagement of second rep.

The news was tweeted by CAF’s official twitter handle.

ℹ: Matches #37&38 are cancelled, because the deadline for @FecafootOfficie 🇨🇲 to confirm the engagement of second rep. for Total CAF Confederation Cup has elapsed. Asante Kotoko 🇬🇭 is therefore qualified to the 1/16th round.#TotalCAFCC

This means Kotoko progress to the next round by default and will know their opponents in the next round after another draw.
