Asante Kotoko knocked out of CAF Confederation Cup by FC San Pedro
Asante Kotoko have been knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup after losing 2-1 on aggregate against Ivorian side FC San Pedro.
The Porcupines won the first leg of the playoffs by a goal to nill but couldn’t make the most of the result in the second leg where they lost 2-0.
FC San Pedro opened the scoring in Abidjan just four minutes into the game with a great strike from Cheick Soumaro.
Asante Kotoko improved after conceding an early goal but couldn’t break the strong San Pedro defence in the first forty-five minutes.
The Porcupines pushed for an equalizer in the second half but still can’t get past the defence of the home team.
Tidjae Diomande scored the second goal for FC San Pedro in the 83rd minute to seal their spot in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages.
