Asante Kotoko fan dies during clash in league game against Nsoatreman FC

Asante Kotoko has confirmed the harrowing loss of one of its fans and other related violence at Nana and park against Nsoatreman FC.



The two teams went head-to-head in the week nineteen Premier League clash.

In the second half, referee Godwin Vormawah gave the home an attacking free kick which didn’t settle well with the home side.

This escalated in a fight between both teams, necessitating the sending off of Kotoko players, Justice Blay, Camara, Ntim Manu, and Stephen Diyou of the home side. 

In an official statement, the club revealed the unfortunate passing of supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong, Nana Pooley.

They have tasked the Ghana Football Association to investigate the violence at the match venue.

Gabriel Bonnah scored the only goal of the game.
