Ghana Premier League’s leading top scorer, Franck Mbella Etouga has received his maiden call-up to Cameroon’s national team, according to reports in Cameroon.

The 20-year-old is the leading scorer in the Ghana Premier League with 19 goals in 23 games he receives a call-up from Cameroon National Team to play in their AFCON 2023 qualifiers vs Kenya and Burundi.
With six games to go until the end of the Premier League season, Mbella is three goals shy of Ishmael Addo’s record tally of 22 goals in a single Ghana Premier League season.

“Within the framework of the qualification matches for AFCON 2023, Ivory Coast, Cameroon’s national team will play official matches during the FIFA break starting from May 30 to Jun 14, 2022. June 4, Cameroon vs Kenya. June 8, Burundi vs Cameroon.
“In this perspective, a preparatory training camp will be held in the aforementioned break from May 30th to June 14.
“In view of the above, we hereby inform you that you have been invited to take part in the said meeting,” part of the letter read.
In a letter sent to Asante Kotoko, the player is expected to join the camp on May 30th as the team starts preparations for the qualifiers.
