“All is not well” – Kurt Okraku on Ghana football decline

Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku has finally admitted to suggestions that football in the country has taken a nose dive in the last few years.

 



This follows the untimely death of Kotoko supporter, Yaw Frimpong (Nana Pooley) at Nsoatre in a game between Nsoatreman and Kotoko FC.

The two biggest clubs in the Ghana Premier League, Kotoko and Hearts of Oak met with the GFA to advance propositions on the way forward for our football.

In the last few months, the country’s most beloved sport has been bedeviled by one issue or the other, scores of hooliganism.

Speaking for the first time since the demise of the Kotoko supporter, Mr. Okraku said “When you hear the public discourse, you realize all is not well (with our football)”. He ended.

It remains unknown what the outcome of the meeting between the GFA, Kotoko, and Hearts of Oak brought out as calls grow stronger for the sport to be safe from recurring acts of hooliganism.
