The Super Eagles of Nigeria have opted out of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier game against Libya.
This follows what the Nigerians have declared as inhumane treatment given to them by their host, Libya.

According to them, their scheduled flight to Benghazi was diverted to Al Labraq.
Several reports from Nigeria has it that, the NFF per medical advice has decided to withdraw from Tuesday's AFCONQ game against Libya.

The Nigeria team of players, technical team, officials, and other high-ranking government officials were left stranded and frustrated without food, water, internet connectivity, and other essentials for more than 14 hours.
Several Nigeria players, captain, William Troost Ekong, and Victor Boniface have had turns to express their disappointment on the treatment meted out to them by the North African outfit.

But in a sharp turn of events, the Libyan Football Federation has come out to dispel suggestions that they did all these in retaliation for purported bad treatment suffered in Nigeria for the first leg.

CAF has however announced that it will investigate the matter to the latter.

This development has made the Nigeria team based on medical withdraw from participating in the game on health grounds.
