Accra lions coach, Ibrahim Tanko blames lack of concentration for painful Kotoko defeat



Accra Lions’ Head Coach, Ibrahim Tanko, has attributed their loss to Asante Kotoko on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Accra Sports Stadium to a lapse in concentration.

Despite a display of fluidity and determination by the Lions during the game, their hopes were shattered by a late goal from Kotoko.

Kalo Ouattra scored a decisive header in the 98th minute, connecting with Sherrif’s precise cross, which resulted in the hosts suffering their first defeat of the season.

Tanko expressed his disappointment, saying, “It’s very painful. I believe it was due to a lack of concentration. I think a draw would have been a more equitable result considering how both teams played, but in football, one momentary lapse in concentration can cost you three points. It’s painful.”
