Abalora nears Kotoko switch
Former WAFA goalkeeper, Razak Abalora is said to have concluded talks with Ghana Premier League giants, Asante Kotoko SC ahead of the new season according to Kumasi based Light FM.
The shot-stopper recently ended his three-year stint with Tanzanian powerhouse, Azam FC in the just-ended season.
In a recent local interview with Adom TV, he confirmed solid interest from a host of clubs in the Ghana Premier League, “I can confirm interest from local clubs like Dreams FC, Kotoko, Hearts of Oak and Ashantigold but my attention is on a foreign move”
Asked about the club he would love to feature for in the domestic top-flight league, he said, “It’s about pen to paper and that, any of the clubs that is able to give me what I want I will sign but that is when a move to abroad is unsuccessful”
Bar any last-minute hitches, the confident goalkeeper will sign the dotted lines, give Porcupine Warriors the needed boost on the local scene as well as its quest to conquer Africa in the CAF Champions League.
Abalora made his debut in the 5-1 heavy thrashing of World Cup 2022 host, Qatar, on Monday in Turkey.
He is expected to give stiff competition to Kwame Baah and Felix Annan for the number one spot at Kotoko.
