I’m still a free-agent – Evans Owusu dispels Liberty move

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko fullback, Evans Owusu has strongly dispelled circling rumors in the local media landscape that, he is on the verge of joining Ghana Premier League club Liberty Professionals ahead of the second transfer window.



Evans Owusu was one of several players shown the exit door in a massive overhaul under then club manager, Maxwell Konadu, who has since been shown the exit door some months back.

In an interview with Saharafootball.net, he opined that he hasn’t moved to any of the clubs as speculated in the local media.

“I haven’t made any move as of now, my representatives are still sorting out one or two things, if anything happens we will make it official”

” Everything, you hear in the media is pure rumors it’s not true, I am still a free agent”

The now free agent was unable to secure a move to any of the local clubs for the first half of the season but with the second transfer window scheduled to open on February 16, 2021, with clubs gearing up to augment their squad for the second half of the season, it looks likely he might secure a move to any club that might aid his development.

He was part of the four players that dragged Asante Kotoko to the Player Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association where the (PSC) ruled in their favour.

The Porcupine Warriors have been asked to pay the player in excess of GHc25,000 for non-payment of his transfer fees to the club.
